‘The Wealthy Freelancer’ - Secrets from the world of freelancing

When three successful freelancers Steve Slaunwhite, Pete Savage and Ed Gandia come together to share the secrets of freelancing, in their book called ‘The wealthy Freelancer', you sit up and notice. All three of them have successfully set up their businesses from scratch have plenty to share and they do it in very simple and lucid way. The ideas and advices contained in this book come directly from the trenches.

It indeed is a very smart and practical guide to establish your freelancing business. It shortens the duration of your learning curve for sure if you are new in business. They share 12 of their freelancing secrets. From mastering the freelancing game mentally to pricing your services to boosting productivity, they have covered the entire gamut. This book guides you towards the income and lifestyle you deserve as a freelancer.

As an independent professional, when you take the less travelled road you ponder at some cross roads. This book ‘The Wealthy Freelancer’ doesn’t really point out the way but it lights up the roads and provides necessary tools to help you on your onward journey.

My favorite is secret no. 9: Boost your productivity without perspiration. I love the 50 minutes focus technique. Sometimes you are too harried and overwhelmed and you really aren’t able to sit down and structure your thoughts. But if you can sit down and claim those 50 focused minutes, you will do wonders to your productivity. And once in a while when words simply flow and your muse seems in good mood and your creative energy peaks, relish those periods.

‘Take time off from projects to get it done sooner,’ is one of the best advices I found in the book. I agree with the theory of incubation period. There is an incubation period of projects. It is not necessarily of two days. Sometimes all that’s required is a walk around the block. Creativity needs it.

I love the book, it speaks my language and it is going to be my Bible for a long time for sure. Thanks Pete.
